Learning Outcomes and Application | The unit applies to the use of stencil, lino cut, block, stamp or silk screen printing techniques to produce culturally specific designs and artworks for fabrics.The unit should be customised to accommodate the image use and design protocols and techniques specific to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.Work may be conducted in small to large scale enterprises and may involve individual and team-related activities.The application of this unit is according to OHS practices of the enterprise and workplace practices, which may include:requirements prescribed by legislation, awards agreements and conditions of employmentstandard operating procedureswork instructionsoral, written and visual communicationquality practices, including responsibility for maintenance of own work quality and contribution to quality improvement of team or section outputhousekeepingtasks related to environmental protection, waste disposal, pollution control, and recyclingThis unit requires skills in communication to describe and express indigenous design concepts. Problem solving, planning and organising, initiative and enterprise and self management skills are used to produce printed fabric which adheres to cultural protocols and achieves desired design effects. Learning skills are applied to review and modify printing processes. | ||
